92 + 84 = ?

What happens when a 92 year old school and an 84-year old visual display company come together? The historic Magnolia Elementary School has been renovated and will reopen this fall. A building this historic (92 years old!) required a balance of new products while utilizing existing elements to highlight its past while also looking to the future. The architect and GC needed to look no further than PBS to achieve this goal with PBS providing multiple products (Claridge markerboards / whiteboards, Forbo Bulletin Board cork, Republic lockers, InPro corner guards, Marlite FRP, and Da Lite projection screens) and expert installation.

When it comes to historic buildings it’s pretty clear they don’t make them like they used to and this was particularly evident in the custom wood trims and doors on this project. Our Claridge markerboard / whiteboard panels had to be mounted absent trims, clips, or cleats to allow the refurbished wood trim provide a modern writing surface with class appeal. The closet doors needed a new Forbo tackable cork surface directly adhered to them and finished with a custom beveled cut to deliver the desired look. Our veteran installers were able to achieve these goals with flying colors. Furthermore we delivered entirely new recessed lockers along the hallways, Marlite FRP for the kitchen and janitors, and several other products.
