A proud history of doing it right

We’ve served the Washington state area for over 80 years — with over 54 years in visual display. That’s a lot of brainstorming, a lot of educating, and a whole lot of good thinking we’ve been there for. So as proud as we are of our history? We’re pretty honored, too.

2022

After decades, PBS re-opens operations in the state of Oregon; adding team members in Portland and Eugene.

 

2019

PBS rebrands as a full-service design and consulting partner for architects, designers, general contractors, and end-users, proving that we’re “more than just markerboards."

 

2015

Brothers David and Mark Strecker take control of PBS as Co-Presidents — and make the company family-run for three generations.

 

2001

PBS says goodbye to Seattle and moves its manufacturing and distribution headquarters twenty miles south to a beautiful new facility in Kent, WA.

 

1985

Dave Strecker Sr. takes over PBS Supply as President - leading the company as the second generation of Streckers - expanding operations to multiple states including Alaska, Oregon, California, and Hawaii in addition to Washington.

 

1976

Our current iteration is born: PBS Supply Co. is formally incorporated in Washington state as a manufacturer of slate chalkboards.

 

1965

Eclipse begins manufacturing poster boards and slate blackboards: the first step toward leading the industry with premium visual display products.

 

1956

Eclipse continues its expansion and diversification by acquiring Thayer Furniture, also in Seattle.

 

1944

Eclipse expands its offering by acquiring Juvenile Furniture in Seattle.

 

1937

Brothers Vincent and Owen Strecker found Eclipse Venetian Blinds near Lake Union, Seattle — establishing us as a family-run, Washington-based business from Day 1.
